AP Teachers Please note: the time and money activities are included here since they are included with measurement on our standards and report cards.
Strand - Geometry and Measurement
(Characteristics of Shapes) This activity allows children to explore the pattern block shapes digitally. The colors match the physical blocks found in classrooms. Blocks can be rotated and flipped. Students can also choose a template to build to, similar to tangram activities. |
Strand - Geometry and Measurement
(Characteristics of Shapes) This activity allows children to explore types of quadrilaterals. After choosing a shape, they can click and drag corners to see the shape manipulated. Helps to build the concept of the shapes as it visually represents unlimited rotations and resizes of them. |
Strand - Geometry and Measurement (Measurable attributes) This activity asks students to use paper clips to measure several objects. Students drag the paper clips to the object and measure. Then they type the answer in to see if they measured correctly. |
Strand - Geometry and Measurement (Time)
In this two-player game, each player clicks to roll the dice and the color moves for them to the correct spot. The player must then use the gear to set the clock to the correct time or that player loses their next turn. |
Strand - Geometry and Measurement (Money)
In this tetris-like game, students are racing against a timer AND new dropping coins. They must click on the coins that show the amount. Once they get the correct amount, the coins disappear. The levels move up into dimes and quarters as well. |
Strand - Geometry and Measurement (Money),
Problem Solving In this game, students are presented with 3 numbers across the bottom of the screen and coins on top. They must drag the coins back and forth so that the amount match over each of the numbers on the bottom. They must be aware that clicking on a coin moves that coin as well as all other coins above it. Other options include using dice or numbers to stack the numbers.
